The colostrum meter is able to determine the amount of immunoglobulins in colostrum.This allows a quick and easy determination of the quality of colostrum. If the colostrum is of good quality (1045 and above), it can be frozen for later use. Readings and results Colostrum with SG (red zone) specific gravity less than 1035 = low immunoglobulin content. SG between 1035 and 1045 (light green zone) = average amount of immunoglobulins. SG above 1045 (dark green zone) = good amount of immunoglobulins.
