TheKershaw Esteem 2032 is a pocket edc folder that impressively combines classic construction with modern design.
The slim blade with a utilitarian drop-point profile has a stonewashed finish (a bath of fine grit), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions to the blade from use. Thanks to the use of a strong hilt, a flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve, the knife has good cutting properties and penetrates with ease. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.3 mm, which is a compromise between the strength and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
The 64 mm long blade is made of 8Cr13MoV stainless steel hardened to 57-59 HRC. The steel used has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade will be great for everyday use due to its resistance to corrosion, good sharpness retention and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is completely sufficient.
