The Benchmade 391BK SOCP is a large tactical knife designed for uniformed services and people looking for a reliable edc tool.The knife was designed by Greg Thompson, creator of the SOCP, a combat system used by the US Army Special Forces.Versatile bladeThe symmetrical spearhead profile slim blade has a black matte finish that effectively protects the blade from corrosion. Thanks to the strong point, the very gentle curvature of the edge and the flat grinding, the blade cuts very smoothly and efficiently and does not wedge into the material.The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm , which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.Hard tool steel D2The 113 mm long blade is made of hard and durable D2 tool steel, hardened to 60-62 HRC. D2 is the most corrosion-resistant carbon steel, characterised by high wear resistance, long working life and aggressive cutting.When choosing a knife made of this steel, it is advisable to obtain a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic steel stone can be very labour-intensive and inefficient.Convenient unlockingThe blade is unlocked by means of a symmetrical disc located on the back of the blade , which allows the knife to be handled by right- and left-handed people. The size of the disc and its convenient positioning allow the blade to be spread with gloves.Safety at workThe knife uses the top-quality Benchmade lock, the Axis-lock mechanism, which is valued for its high resistance to dynamic loads, resistance to dirt and ease of use. The strength and rigidity of the knife construction is ensured by the increased thickness of the full steel liners.Lightweight and durable liningThe knife has a profiled sheath made of special CF-Elite material (carbon fibre reinforced nylon) , which is much lighter and stiffer than, for example, G10 laminate.
