The Kershaw Amplitude 3870 is a compact gentleman's folder knife made in collaboration with esteemed designer Todd Rexford. Proven steel The narrow blade, 72 mm long, is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC . This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use , due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and easy sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough. Efficient blade The knife has a satin blade with a usable drop-point profile , which is perfect for everyday activities. There are transverse cutters on the spine that allow for a stable support of the thumb. Good cutting properties and excellent penetration of the knife are due to the use of an aggressive point, flat grinding and a cutting edge with a gentle curvature. Comfort of use The blade can be quickly unfolded with one hand using a milled flipper , it is enough to press the fin vigorously and the knife is ready for work. This simple solution is convenient for both right and left-handed users, and also allows the knife to be conveniently operated with gloves. Robust lock The monolithic frame-lock blockade , considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms, protects against accidental folding of the blade . The lock, like the flipper and the pin, can be operated with one hand. Carrying clip The daily carrying of the knife in the pocket is possible thanks to a wide steel clip that can be attached in 2 positions . Simple and stylish The knife has straight 410 stainless steel facings with a wear resistant PVD (vapor phase) coating to protect against scratching and abrasion. The manufacturer gave up milling and texturing the handle. The elements that ensure a stable and safe grip are the delicately profiled shape of the cladding and the flipper, which, after unfolding the blade, acts as a handguard.
