The 154CM is a stainless steel with molybdenum additive, with a very high carbon content, which can be described as an improved version of 440C.American steel is particularly appreciated for its resistance to corrosion and abrasion (high toughness), its long edge life and its relatively easy sharpening.Aggressive bladeThe knives with the characteristic hawk's eye profile have a smooth, matt finish, using the stone-washing method (bathing in abrasive stones), which effectively covers any scratches or abrasions that the blade may suffer during use. Thanks to the use of a very sharp point, flat cutting and concave cutting edge, the knife is perfect for everyday light work such as opening packages and boxes, cutting string, etc.The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife for everyday work.Automatic openingThe most important feature of the automatic knife is its extremely convenient and easy opening system.Unlike models with a motorised blade, an automatic knife requires only the pressing of a button to open the blade, which is responsible for releasing the lock and activating the internal spring.To fold the blade, the button must be pressed again and the blade must be retracted manually. Such functionality makes the "automatics" very popular with soldiers, uniformed services and a rapidly growing group of EDC enthusiasts.The release button is embedded in a mart notch so it does not protrude above the handle, effectively preventing accidental opening of the blade. Extreme care and caution should be taken when using the automatic knife.Aluminium 3D handleThe knife has an ergonomic casing made of anodised 6061-T6 aircraft aluminium, creating a monolithic whole on the back. Thanks to the precise 3D machining, the handle has a very attractive finish and excellent grip, provided by the cut-out finger positions and aggressive contouring.The grey anodised finish resists fading, scratching and wear, guaranteeing the knife's attractive appearance for a long time. The knife can be carried discreetly in the pocket thanks to the standard handle, which can be transferred to the other side.
