The Kershaw Emerson 6055D2 is a highly functional folding knife , equipped with a D2 steel blade , frame-lock blockade and convenient unfolding system , which is the result of a collaboration between the Kershaw and Emerson Knives brands.Kershaw and Emerson Knives have joined forces to create a range of knives that combines the precision and quality of the Kershaw with the uncompromising functionality of the Emerson brand.Hard tool steel D2A 99 mm long blade is made from hard and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 58-60 HRC . D2 is the most corrosion resistant carbon steel, characterized by high wear resistance, long working life retention and aggressive cutting. When choosing a knife made from this steel, it is advisable to purchase a diamond sharpener, because sharpening with a standard ceramic bottom stone can be very time consuming and ineffective. The wide blade can be used with a drop point profile , double surface: the cut is satin cut on the cutting edge, the upper part is stone ground. Thanks to the strong tip, the very fine curvature of the edge and the concave cut, the blade cuts very smoothly and efficiently, with no tendency to nick the material. The length of the unfolded knife is 229 mm and the thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3.5 mm, making the Kershaw Emerson 6055D2 easily able to cope with any everyday task. The blade unfolds in two waysThe blade unfolds in two ways with one hand, i.e. with a serrated disc or with a 'wave'. The dial on the back of the blade performs the same function as the popular flipper, but with the difference that it can be operated with a thumb. The Emerson solution relies on a hook-shaped spike that grips the edge of the pocket when the knife is pulled out, causing the blade to open spontaneously. The sheave and the wave catcher are symmetrically positioned so that both right and left-handed users can use the knife comfortably.Work safelyThe blade is effectively protected against accidental retraction by the monolithic frame lock, which is fitted with a hardened steel insert to guarantee reliability and safe operation. The frame-lock is a solid lock, considered one of the most durable locking mechanisms , characterized by resistance to dirt and very comfortable operation.Comfortable handleThe knife handle is made of sandblasted 410 steel and black G-10 laminate . The profiled shape of the handle and the fine texture of the composite keep the knife very firm in the hand and very comfortable to use.The back of the handle has a hole for attaching the decorative paracord tail, which makes it easier and quicker to remove the knife from the pocket. The knife can be carried discreetly in a pocket thanks to the elastic clip that can be attached to either side of the handle.TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONSSheet informationBlade profile Drop PointSteel hardness [HRC] 59-60Blade lock type Keretz lockKnife type foldingKnife type flipper machineSteel type carbon - D2 Additional informationClip for carrying is includedComposite blade - G10,Metal - stainless steelCorrosion resistance averageDull resistance okCut type concave Application (intended use) EDCDimensionsTotal length [mm] 229Blade length [mm] 99Length after cutting [mm] 127Blade thickness [mm] 3Weight [g] 176
