This Chinese stainless steel is characterised by high corrosion resistance, maintaining sharpness for a relatively short time, which is perfectly compensated by the easy and fast knife sharpening.Such properties of the steel mean that the Kershaw Starter 1301BW is aimed at less demanding users and those who are just getting started in the outdoors and adventuring with EDC.Functional bladeThe sleek, usable drop-point profile blade has an effective, antiqued BlackWash finish (black oxidation) that effectively covers up any minor scratches or abrasions that occur on the blade during use.Thanks to the narrow tip, concave cut and gentle curvature of the cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material to be cut.The blade thickness at its widest point is 2.8 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality for everyday use. The transversal cutters on the spine of the blade allow stable support of the fingers during work.Convenient operationThe blade can be folded with one hand in two ways : with a ground flipper or with a double-sided pin, allowing you to choose the method according to your preferences. Both solutions are convenient for right-handed and left-handed users, and also allow comfortable use of the knife with gloves.Mechanism to support the blade openingThe opening process is assisted by the SpeedSafe support mechanism. When you push down the flipper blade or pull out the pin, the support mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically unfolds the blade and the knife is ready for use in a split second.Robust lockAfter unfolding the blade, it is securely locked in place with the liner locking mechanism.
