The Kershaw Leek was created with everyday use in mind, which is clearly emphasized by its small size, lightweight construction and typically functional style. The 76 mm long blade is made of Swedish 14C28N stainless steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. Due to the high purity of the alloy, 14C28N steel is distinguished by its high hardness, corrosion resistance and, importantly for the user, long retention of working sharpness.
The slim blade with an aggressive wharncliffe profile has a matte blackwashed finish, which does a good job of masking minor scratches that occur during daily use. Thanks to the narrow hilt, concave grind and cutting edge with an almost straight line, the knife has excellent cutting properties, and the blade does not wedge in the material. The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work.
