The Benchmade 2551 Mini Reflex is an automatic EDC knife , equipped with a CPM 154 stainless steel blade , a discreet unfolding button and lightweight anodized aluminum cladding . Tool steel The 80 mm long blade is made of hard 154CM tool steel, hardened to a hardness of 58-61 HRC . 154CM is a high carbon stainless steel enriched with molybdenum, so it can be described as an improved version of 440C. American 154CM steel is valued for its corrosion and wear resistance (high impact strength), long-term sharpness and relative ease of sharpening . Dagger blade The slender blade with a useful drop point profile was finished with a satin finish (polishing). The frosted blade is easier to clean and does not reflect light. Thanks to the use of a strong point and a flat cut , the knife will be perfect as a business tool or a standard EDC folder . The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.5 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. Instant unfolding The main advantage of the automatic knife is the comfortable and quick unfolding system . Unlike models with an assisted blade, in an automatic knife, unfolding the blade requires only pressing the button , which is responsible for releasing the lock and activating the internal spring. Folding the blade requires pressing the button again and manually retracting the blade. Such functionality makes the "automatics" very popular among soldiers, employees of uniformed services and EDC enthusiasts. The release button is embedded in a milled cutout, so it does not protrude above the handle. The knife uses an additional lock that prevents accidental pressing of the activation button and folding the blade. The slider of the second safety mechanism is located on the back of the handle. Comfortable grip The knife has ergonomic linings made of anodized aircraft aluminum 6061-T6 forming a monolithic whole with the backspacer. Thanks to precise 3D machining, the handle has an effective design and good grip, which is ensured by deep milling and a shape profiled to the hand. The black anodized coating is resistant to fading, scratching and abrasion, which guarantees the attractive appearance of the knife for a long time.
