The Benchmade 537GY Bailout is a very light and durable tactical knife from the "black class" series, equipped with a tanto blade made of CPM-3V powder steel , an aluminum hammer and enlarged grips made of Grivory plastic. The Benchmade Bailout has a typically tactical style, emphasized by the black color of the blade and cladding and the shape of the blade. The knife uses an 86 mm blade with a Japanese tanto profile , made of high-quality CPM-3V tool steel . The shape of the blade used ensures increased tip strength while maintaining high cutting efficiency. The CPM-3V grade approaches the properties of premium S7 and A9 steels with its parameters and is an excellent alternative to A2, D2 and CPM M4. Unlike classic powder steels, CPM 3V is not stainless steel, so it is worth taking proper care of the blade and maintaining it regularly. The blade has been covered with a gray DLC coating , which has very high abrasion resistance and also protects the steel against corrosion. The blade can be conveniently unfolded with one hand, thanks to the use of a double-sided pin (made of anodized aluminum), thus enabling comfortable operation of the knife for right and left-handed people. The blade lock is of course Axis-lock , the flagship mechanism of the Benchmade brand, valued for its great resistance to loads, insensitivity to dirt and ease of use. Thanks to the use of enlarged, Grivory plastic linings , the construction of the knife is extremely light (58 g) and can be comfortably used in gloves or by people with larger hands. The non-slip texture of the handle and its widening at the base ensure a secure grip of the knife and prevent the hand from moving during work. A wide clip with the option of relocation (left / right), allows you to carry the knife in a pocket or tactical equipment. The handle is finished with an aluminum insert, which can be used as a hook for a rope or a head for inflicting hammer blows.
