Benchmade 560BK-1 Freek is a popular knife model, which for the first time was made of two extremely durable materials, the legendary CPM-M4 steel and G10 laminate . Benchmade 560BK Freek has a drop-point blade with a perfectly matched usable length of 91 mm. The blade with a high flat cut has been protected against external factors with a hard Cerakote ceramic coating , characterized by very high resistance to abrasion and scratches. The new 560BK model has a blade made of high-carbon CPM-M4 tool steel hardened to a hardness of 62-64 HRC . Thanks to the high content of molybdenum, vanadium and tungsten, the high level of carbon has been balanced, resulting in excellent sharpness retention and extreme hardness. Sharpening such steel is difficult and time-consuming, and you should also remember about regular care of the blade. In return, however, the user receives a tool whose aggressive cutting and extremely long maintenance of working sharpness perfectly compensate for the mentioned disadvantages. The double-sided pin allows for quick unfolding of the blade with one hand for right and left-handed people. The lock used is of course Axis-lock , invariably considered to be one of the strongest and most convenient mechanisms used in folding knives. The ramp placed on the back of the blade creates a firm support for the thumb while operating the knife. Profiled facings are made of black and gray G10 laminate , which has been milled to increase adhesion and grip. The uniqueness of this model is emphasized by red inserts (liners) and polished spacers in the same color .
