Kershaw Kershaw Duojet 8300 is a modern EDC knife , which uses 8Cr13MoV stainless steel , a mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade , steel cladding with carbon fiber and a strong frame-lock. Proven steel The 89 mm long blade is made of the popular 8Cr13MoV steel hardened to 57-59 HRC . This Chinese steel has good corrosion resistance and hardenability comparable to AUS6. The 8Cr13MoV steel blade is perfect for everyday use , due to corrosion resistance, good sharpness and ease of sharpening, for which a pocket whetstone is enough. Functional blade The knife has a slim blade with a useful clip-point profile , with a distinct false blade and a thumb ramp. Longitudinal cuts in the blade reduce its weight and allow you to unfold the blade with your thumb. Thanks to the use of a strong point, concave cut and a clearly rounded cutting edge, the knife has good cutting properties, and its sharpening is problematic . The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 2.8 mm , which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. The entire blade is covered with a ceramic titanium nitride coating , which provides protection against weather conditions, salt water, is characterized by exceptional hardness and corrosion resistance and chemical stability (does not change color over time). Quick unfolding The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways: using a milled flipper or using a double-sided pin , thus enabling the choice of the method in accordance with our preferences. Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient operation of the knife with gloves. Mechanism supporting the unfolding of the blade The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism . When you press down on the flipper fin, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically extends the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second. Blade lock The integrated frame-lock , considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade . The lock, like the flipper, can be operated with one hand. Elegant grip The handle of the knife is made of stainless steel cladding , gently profiled to the hand. To protect the grip, similarly to the blade, a carbon-titanium protective coating was used, thanks to which the knife has a very modern design. The element that attracts the attention of knife lovers is the decorative carbon fiber insert , which gives an elegant character and perfectly harmonizes with the two-tone color of the blade. In the back of the handle there is a hole for attaching a rope or paracord braid . Daily carrying of the knife in the pocket is possible thanks to the standard clip , with the possibility of mounting in 2 positions (left / right side).
