The Kershaw Leek 1660Cu is a popular everyday knife with a 154CM American stainless steel blade, a blade folding mechanism and stylish brass cladding . Composite steel Kershaw Leek was created with everyday use in mind , which is clearly emphasized by its small size, lightweight construction and typically functional style . The knife has a 76 mm long blade made of hard 154CM tool steel , which is subjected to hardening to a hardness of 58-60 HRC, which is optimal for EDC knives . 154CM is molybdenum-added stainless steel with a very high carbon content, which can be described as an improved version of 440C. American steel is particularly valued for its corrosion and wear resistance (high toughness), long-term sharpness and relative ease of sharpening . The slim blade with an aggressive wharncliffe profile has a uniform, matte stonewashed finish. Thanks to the use of a narrow point, concave grind and a cutting edge with an almost straight line, the knife has excellent cutting properties and the blade does not get stuck in the material . The thickness of the blade at its widest point is 3 mm, which is a compromise between the durability and functionality of the knife in everyday work. Comfort of use The blade can be unfolded with one hand in two ways : using a milled flipper or using a double-sided pin, thus enabling the choice of the method in accordance with our preferences. Both solutions are convenient for both right- and left-handed users, they also allow for convenient operation of the knife with gloves. The opening process is facilitated by the SpeedSafe assist mechanism . When you press down on the flipper fin, the assist mechanism activates an internal spring that dynamically extends the blade, making the knife ready for use in a fraction of a second. Two locks The monolithic frame-lock , considered to be one of the most durable locking mechanisms, effectively protects against accidental folding of the blade . The main lock is supported by an additional Tip Safety Lock securing mechanism . A slide lock located in the upper part of the knife prevents accidental opening of the blade in the folded position .
