The Satake Satoru utility knife is a handy and very light kitchen knife with a 13.5 cm blade , designed for cutting and peeling smaller fruits and vegetables.
The blade is made of stainless molybdenum-vanadium steel hardened to a hardness of 56-58 HRC . Thanks to the addition of molybdenum, the steel has a high resistance to corrosion and wear.
A full flat grind and a slim 30 mm wide blade make the Satake Satoru perfect for slicing tomatoes, chopping garlic or preparing sandwiches.
Perfect balance and handy size make the Satake Satoru a successful replacement for a large chef's knife, which can be unwieldy when cutting smaller products.
The handle of the knife is made of bakelite linings filled with wood flour, attached to the tang with rivets. Bakelite is the progenitor of modern plastics, distinguished by high resistance to scratches and high temperatures.
