The 71mm long blade is made of tough and durable D2 tool steel hardened to 58-60 HRC. D2 is the most corrosion-resistant carbon steel, which is characterized by high abrasion resistance, long maintenance of working sharpness and aggressive cutting. When choosing a knife made of hard highly hardened steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, as sharpening with a standard ceramic whetstone can be very labor-intensive and inefficient.
The slender, utility drop-point blade has a tapered section of the back and a milled ramp, allowing for a stable thumb rest. The knife owes its good cutting qualities to a flat grind and a cutting edge with a gentle curve. The blade is finished using the stonewashed method (bath in abrasive stones), which effectively masks any scratches or abrasions of the blade caused by use.
