Zero Tolerance ZT 0235 is a small "gentleman's folder" knife , combining high-quality materials with the simplicity of the classic slip-joint mechanism .
Behind the Zero Tolerance ZT 0235 project is the Danish knifemaker Jens Anso, famous for minimalist and at the same time very functional knives.
The knife does not have a typical lock , and unfolding the blade requires the use of two hands , which is why the folder can be legally carried almost throughout Europe .
Branded steel
The 66 mm long blade was made of CPM-S20V powder steel hardened to a hardness of 59-61 HRC . CPM-S20V is a "supersteel", which parameters correspond to Bohler M390 stainless steel.
Thanks to the high content of chromium and a large amount of vanadium carbides , it is characterized by exceptionally good resistance to corrosion and wear, and very long retention of sharpness .
When choosing a knife made of such steel, it is worth getting a diamond sharpener, because sharpening using a standard ceramic whetstone can be very laborious and ineffective.
The blade with a spear point profile has a matte stonewashed finish, which perfectly masks scratches on the blade and reduces light reflections. The knife brand is lasered on the back of the blade.
Slip-joint locking mechanism
The Zero Tolerance ZT 0235 uses a slip-joint mechanism , which is a simple spring lock that holds the blade in place in both the folded and unfolded positions.
However, unlike a typical slip-joint, Zero Tolerance uses two steel balls on both sides of the blade. Such functionality means that the blade is securely locked also in the partial opening position .
The knife can be folded with little force, therefore the slip-joint is not officially recognized as a typical knife lock. which causes, therefore it can be legally used in most countries in the world.
Classic unfolding
The blade is unfolded using a nail cutout, a popular solution used, among others, in in pocket knives. As with traditional folding knives, the action of opening the blade requires the use of two hands .
Elegant cladding
The ZT 0235 model uses stylish linings made of light carbon fiber , a material with great resistance to mechanical damage and weather conditions.
An element that emphasizes the participation of Jens Anso is the blue anodized spacer (backspacer), in which there is a cable hook or a decorative braid.
The high-set clip (with the possibility of transferring it to the other side) allows for convenient and discreet carrying of the knife in the pocket.
