Horse care includes taking good care of the horse's coat. Trimming long hairs is also an occasional grooming job, which can be done with sharp and larger scissors. The mane can be clipped or pulled. Manes that are too thick tend to be shorn to produce thinning hairs towards the end. The horse's mane is trimmed completely short, especially for sport horses, which has the advantage of not getting the rider's hands caught in it.
